As we approach the\u00a0April 1st ranking snapshot<\/strong>, Euro Derby has become a pressure cooker. While we\u2019re fully focused on the\u00a0Last Chance<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0weekend that will be\u00a0EuroClash 2026<\/strong>\u00a0at the\u00a0Walker Dome in Tyneside<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0March 28-29th<\/strong>, the math starts moving much sooner.<\/p>\n

With teams fighting for every point at upcoming tournaments like\u00a0Skate Around 7<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Vie de bloc de fer<\/strong>, the rankings we see today might look very different by the time these five teams line up in Newcastle.<\/p>\n

8 Games. 5 Teams. One Final Weekend.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The mission is simple: one final weekend to make a rankings move.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of our skaters were involved in the World Cup, which was an amazing experience, but it did stretch people financially,\u201d Evans explains. \u201cThe reality is that regular travel to Europe for games just isn\u2019t accessible for everyone… we\u2019ve ended up with a bit of an all-eggs-in-one-basket situation.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Despite the scheduling challenges, the Brawlers aren\u2019t backing down.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a pressure we\u2019re excited about,\u201d says Evans. \u201cOur goal is to… show that, even with fewer games under our belt, we\u2019re still a part of the conversation.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sitting an agonising\u00a03.95 points<\/strong>\u00a0away from a qualifying spot. They will be watching the scores from\u00a0Vie de bloc de fer<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0closely before arriving in Tyneside.<\/p>\n

One Team, One Goal. For G\u00f6teborg,\u00a0EuroClash<\/strong>\u00a0represents the culmination of a massive year following their blockbuster merger. The team is focused on mechanical precision rather than overthinking the math.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe consolidation of DCR and GBGRD was necessary… Now, a little over a year in, we truly feel like one team and we\u2019re ready to show Europe what that means on track,\u201d says A-Team Captain World\u2019s Okayest Skater.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This unity has translated into a sharper tactical edge and refined communication.<\/p>\n

While the visitors are crunching numbers, the hosts are all about hospitality and hustle. Newcastle is riding an incredible\u00a08-0 undefeated streak<\/strong>, but they aren\u2019t interested in playing it safe to protect that record.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re so excited to host EuroClash at the Dome\u2026 it\u2019s a brilliant venue and (OK, we might be biased) but North East audiences are the best,\u201d the team shared. \u201cHonestly, we\u2019re not worried about protecting our record, we\u2019re expecting to lose games, and we\u2019re okay with that. We need those challenges to keep growing.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

For Newcastle, the motivation is the rare opportunity to reach the postseason.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the only way to have a shot at making Playoffs and that chance only comes around every other year, so we\u2019re not going to rest on our laurels and let it pass us by. We might be the underdogs at EuroClash, but we don\u2019t fear losing; we expect it, and we\u2019ll use that loss to motivate and inspire each other.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
